Day Fifteen: Our City

PRAY FOR WESTMINSTER

Through our devotionals, we spent the first two weeks laying the foundation for ourselves and our church, and today kicks off the third week of devotionals focused on taking action. You may not directly live in Westminster or do much life here, but our church is located in Westminster and is focused on reaching our city (and, of course, the surrounding areas, too).

Statistics can be hard to get completely accurate, but from what we know, approximately 90% of people in Westminster are not Christians, and somewhere around 60% would say they have no religious affiliation. The same holds true for the surrounding cities (Broomfield, Thornton, Arvada, etc.)

For today, we want to pray for our city that God would move and bring about a revival to Westminster.

DAY THIRTEEN DEVOTIONAL

Scripture: Matthew 5:14-16

“You are the light of the world—like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden. No one lights a lamp and then puts it under a basket. Instead, a lamp is placed on a stand, where it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your good deeds shine out for all to see, so that everyone will praise your heavenly Father.

Apply –– How can you apply this in real life?

Respond –– Use what you’ve learned to pray, write out a next step, or consider who you can share this with.

PRAY

Today, would you add these things to your prayer time as you pray and fast?

  • God, thank You for this city I call home

  • Help me to remember that you’ve placed me here on purpose, for a purpose

  • Show me how I can love, serve, and show the people of Westminster Jesus

  • Prepare us as a church to be part of a revival work here in Westminster
